Where were you on 9/11?

I was working as the school nurse when I heard the news. Everyone gathered into one of the classrooms to watch television. At first, no one believed it. Then, as the reality sunk in, a great sadness and fear set in. Confusion also set in. We could not wrap our heads around what we were witnessing. We were under attack. Would this be a war in the United States? How could this be? Cell phones stopped working. We couldn't reach our loved ones. We had no answers - only questions and so much fear. Our hearts were breaking. We were "lost".

Today, I saw many of the faces of those who lost their lives that day. My prayers and thoughts of hope go out to those who lost their lives, those who survived and those who were so very brave.

We must not let the evil people who are responsible for this and those who remain evil in this world make us afraid or take away our spirit. Have faith in God and each other. We are no longer lost. We will stand together and remember and grow stronger.

Great New Design! Vampiress ! This eReader cover can be made to fit most eReaders including Nooks, Kindles, Cruz, etc. All you have to do is send me your eReader Dimensions.

Each cover is very well padded with fleece batting, yet supple enough to bend in half for reading. Makes it so much easier! I love to use ribbons as closures. I do not use magnets due their close proximity to the actual electronic reader. Bad combo!

Has 2 pockets on left. One large pocket where you can store your eReader while not in use. Or, papers or whatever you like. Right beneath the large pocket is one smaller pocket for little notes, etc. The right side of the lining has 4 fabric trianges which hold the eReader securely. The sample below shows the Velocity Cruz eReader.

I have always like to fold my cover in half to read. I find that it is far more comfortable that way.

Well, it appears that my cupcakes were a hit at the firehouse! I made 2 dozen for 8 firefighters. The cupcakes were made with vanilla flavoring and vanilla pudding. I then dipped them in chocolate ganache. After that, I swirled almond buttercream on the top! I am so happy that they were a hit! If you want the recipe, just email me. Grandson to deploy to Afghanistan - Obama's War

Tonight, I will not post any pretty bags. I will not post any new projects. Tonight, I will tell you a story.

Tonight, my grandson left for California to train for a couple of weeks before he deploys to Afghanistan. He will leave behind is 2 little daughters, one who is 6 weeks old and one who is 5 years old. What is this madness that Obama has involved us in? Our young men are dying, being wounded, being separated from their families and experiencing horrors that they should never have to face. Tonight is a sad night that I share with so many other families. It is a bond that has been thrust upon us. To the Afghan people: We do not want to be in your country at war. Our President has forced this upon us. Do not blame the average American family. We are as sad as you....

Diaper Cake - I think I will personalize the ribbons next time!

My new Diaper Cake ! Yaaah ! This one was made for little Mariah. I think next time I will personalize the ribbons with the Baby's name. I used pure silk ribbons on this cake. Came out pretty cute! It was alot of fun making it. The center of the cake is stuffed with baby powder, desitin ointment and bottles. I used the Pampers Infant Senstive Diapers. It was a hit at the shower today! I plan on making alot more of them and experimenting with different themes and personalization. I also tied it up in a large piece of pink tulle with a pink tulle bow on top! It was great!

Check back soon to see the new Personalized Diaper Cakes! The ribbons will have a wider width to show off the baby's name. They can be shipped by priority mail in one single unit. You can then add any little gifts that you might want to give. The sample sizes of baby products fit nicely in between the diapers. You can add rattles, bottles, thermometers, pacifiers, powder, toys, teething rings - well, just about anything! You can make it as simple or elegant as you choose!

Cricut Cartridge Love Struck - My Little Pink Valentine's Day Tree !

Just for fun - This is my little Pink Tree that I can decorate and enjoy all year long! I needed a little break from embroidery and sewing, so I thought I would have a little creative fun ! Since it is so close to Valentine's Day, I decided to use my Cricut expression (pink also) and make hearts and kisses for my little tree! I just love being Pink and Prissy! The cartridge I used is the new Love Struck mini cartridge. I used pink vinyl and pink hearts cardstock. I also used stickles to add a little bling! Then I used a hole punch and gold ribbons to hang the valentines on the tree! Voila! I have lots more to make before Valentine's Day, but this is a good start! I hope it makes you smile :)))

Beginning in February, I will be offering a custom
monogram/name digitizing service.

At times, some of our embroidery folks just need a quick monogram,
name (especially stacked monograms) that they can stitch out on their
own personal items.
I will design and convert the monogram

or name to any format and size.

Ribbons and Loops

Just another day in stitches !

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, it did! Another supplier of loopy ribbons found my website and contacted me today! Now I won't have to hand make all of my ribbon loops. Should make my vintage bags lush and romantic. I worked most of the day designing and re-designing bags - almost done! I know, I know, I have said that before, but this time it is true!

It is always fun providing monogrammed bags for customers, but I find the new bag designing process so much fun and rewarding. I usually work on my Bella Fiori Bags in the fall and winter. Now it is nearly spring, and I feel the need to create color, texture and romance ! I think a girl can never have too many bags, too many shoes, too much mascara or too much chocolate!

I also spent the day struggling with my serger. I think it is just tired - like me today!

My new search will be for beautiful fabrics - brocades, velvets, silks to add to my bags. It is like an old time scavenger hunt!

My vintage line will bring us back to a far simpler and kinder time. We can remember our grandparents and all that that includes.

Oh, and don't forget the little girl's spring dresses. I will once again be providing you with custom pillowcase dresses! They can be monogrammed or personalized. They are really cute and prissy.

Embroidery Barnyard at Work and Play !

Worked all day on my new line of Vintage Bags! Hopefully, the 1st will be posted by the end of this week. Each time I think I have designed it exactly the way I want, I find new inspiration! With all of the beautiful ribbons, loops, silks and fabrics, I just can't make up my mind.

The pink toile backpacks have been flying out like hotcakes! The new monogram designs are really cute! The designs are especially cute on beach towels. Thank goodness spring is almost here! The winter has been a long one. I have to sew another diaper bag tonight before I can go back to the Vintage Bags!

I will be setting up shop with a friend in her Art Shop soon! I just can't wait. Should be fun.

Yippee! I found my ribbons! I have been looking for months for the exact ribbons that I need for my vintage bags and today was the day! I found a supplier !!! I ordered yards and yards of ribbon. Now I will have to work myself to death making my trims for my new Vintage Bags! I am so happy, I could bust!!!
